Clayton A. Davies

October 31, 1932 - January 28, 2011

 

Clayton A. Davies, age 78, of Janesville passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 following a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 31, 1932 in Hanover, WI, the son of Chester and Alice Davies. He married Virgene Gayle Krueger from Edgerton on March 3, 1956. He served in the Korean War with the U. S. Air Force and worked and retired from the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.

Clayton Davies is survived by his 4 children, Janice Ross (Quinton), Mark ( Paula), Jeff ( Jackie Schroeder), Brian (Mary). He is further survived by a special nephew, Richard Correll, 1 sister Beverly Neumann, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his very special companion, Gertrude Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgene, as well as his 2 sisters, Gladys Dabson and Lyn Bridgeman.

The family wishes to thank all of dad’s doctors, nurses and caregivers from Mercy Hospital, Dean Riverview Oncology department, Mercy Cancer Center and especially all his wonderful “girls” from HospiceCare, Inc.

Memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., 3001 West Memorial Drive, Janesville, WI 53548.

Clayton’s wishes were for a private family service to be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, Janesville, with burial to follow in Milton Lawns. The service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
